It will run until March 2, 2010 at the Walker County Annex. o The Molly Ivins dinner will need volunteers and is offering a student discount on tickets. * Andrea White was on campus last Thursday (2/4) and gave us a lot of Bill White campaign stuff as well as some of her books.
· 5:32 Discussion of T-shirts by Kendall Scudder.
o The design that we have chosen for our shirt this semester will be “Irrelephant.” The shirt will be royal blue and on the front it will say “Majority Rules!” and on the back there will be an upside down elephant that has “Irrelephant” underneath it.
· 5:38 Discussion of Lt. Governor’s race by Kendall Scudder.
o The following candidates are running for Lt. Governor of Texas:
* (in no particular order) David Dewhurst, Ronnie Earle, Linda Chavez-Thompson, Mark Katz.

o We will be tabling on the mall area Thursday at 11:00 AM.
o Dues are $15.00 for the semester and include a T-shirt.
o The Austin Convention in April 23-25 and registration is $25.00.
o The Are You A Democrat event is March 11 at 7:00 PM.
o Organizing for America East Texas Training is March 6.
o The Molly Ivins dinner is February 27, 2010.
o April 17, 2010 will be the next Adopt-A-Highway.
o We will be participating in Bearkat All paws In on February 27, 2010.
o Tonight on PBS at 7:00 PM there will be a governor’s race debate between Bill White and Farouk Shami.

* We will be meeting for Adopt-A-Highway at 8:30 AM Saturday (2/6) morning in the parking lot across from the library.
* Sara Means will be going around tonight or tomorrow afternoon to local restaurants to discus the WWF event for the polar bears. The iea is to he 15% of the money earned that night to be donated to the WWF. There will be more information closer to the actual event date.

* The Jeff Weems event was a ‘great success’!
· Thursday (2/4) at 1:30, Bill White’s wife Andrea will be on campus.
o Information will be sent out through SamMail as it is received.

* The Are You A Democrat event is on the same day as the conference in New Orleans. The event will have to be moved.

* Meetings will be held every week, as opposed to every other week.
* Saturday, January 23rd, the Bearkat Democrats attended the opening of Sheila Jackson Lee’s headquarters in Houston. They also attended Jeff Weem’s “Waltz Across Texas” fundraiser.
* The Texas Young Democrats convention in Austin on April 24th coincides with Realy for Life.

* The Bearkat Democrats had their first ornament on the Tree of Lights in December. “It was beautiful!”

* February 18th through 22nd. We will be volunteering Thursday, February 18th which will waive registration fees. The event as a whole should cost you around $100.00. Conferences and conventions consist of committees, caucuses, and training sessions throughout the day. If you are even slightly interested in going, email info@bearkatdemocrats.com.
o Relay For Life
* Unfortunately, the Bearkat Democarst will not be attending Relay for Life this year because it conflicts with the convention in Austin.
o Are You A Democrat event
* Unfortuantely, the Are You A Democrat event interferes with the conference in New Orleans so we will have to move the date of the event.
o Jeff Weems’ visit
* Thursday, January 28th, Jeff Weems will be on campus. He is running for Railroad Commissioner. The event will be held at 5:30PM in the Kerper Courtroom in the Criminal Justice building.
o Organizing for America training session
* The session will be held March 6, 2010. It will be catered by Tinsley’s Chicken & Rolls. Information still pending so be looking out for Facebook invites and information on our website.
o State of the Union Address
* Wednesday, January 27th, we will be having a State of the Union watch party at Kendall’s apartment. The address begins at 8:00PM.
